Details
The PGA surgical suture is an absorbable synthetic surgical suture made by weaving a suitable number of braided polyglycolic acid fibres. The PGA suture has a layer of polycaprolactone copolymer. The suture still has 50% of its initial tensile strength 14 days after the operation, which ensures the tissues heal properly. Absorption of the knot takes about 25-28 days. It can be used in all cases where it is not necessary to remove the stitches and in particularly delicate tissues, in combination with absorbable membranes.
