The OMNISILK dental surgical suture is a non-absorbable polyfilament, in natural protein fibre, made by weaving a suitable number of silk fibres from the cocoons of the silkworm Bombyx mori L.
The fibres are dyed black and purified to make them reliable in terms of biocompatibility and non-capillarity.
They are also coated with silicone and paraffin to make the surface smoother and more even and increase their smoothness.
They are braided with a particular process to make the surface compact, ductile, soft and easily knottable, easy to handle and visible.
The HS needle is also called “triangular” or “reverse cutting” because the cutting edges are on the sides and the bottom. With its three cutting edges, this needle passes through the tissue easily and is suitable for almost all uses. It offers an excellent penetration capability and high strength, and is indicated for sutures with incision of the periosteum and where there are substantial mucous membranes.
